Panel discussion - 40 minutes
This BoF aims at providing a platform to discuss the state of Samsung Exynos and Google Tensor SoCs and their platforms in the Mainline Linux Kernel. Focusing mainly on. Where we are, Current Status of SoC drivers. Ongoing efforts on new Drivers/Frameworks. Pending problems to solve and plan of attack. Along with open discussion around ongoing efforts. This BoF will be co-presented by Exynos maintainer Krzysztof Kozlowski, Tensor maintainer Peter Griffin and Google Landing Team Engineers.
Technical presentation - 30 minutes (including q&a)
The presentation provides an overview of the audio subsystem on Qualcomm ARM devices, exploring the essential components required for hassle-free sound functionality on older and modern Qualcomm sound architectures -- Elite and Audioreach. The presentation covers the interplay between components inside Linux kernel, open-source software, and Qualcomm's proprietary components, as well as the challenges and opportunities in bringing-up audio on Qualcomm systems. Also it aims to provide status of audio support and planned new features.
Krzysztof Kozlowski is an active Linux Kernel developer, working currently for Linaro on upstream development of Qualcomm ARM/ARM64 SoCs. Krzysztof maintains several upstream kernel subsystems: Devicetree bindings (as a co-maintainer with Rob and Conor), Memory controller drivers, NFC subsystem with drivers, and Samsung Exynos SoC ARM/ARM64 architecture. Krzysztof made several contributions to the kernel, appearing in top-contributors for several releases.
