Review Submissions
As an evaluator, you play a crucial role in selecting talks for the event. Learn how to effectively review and score submissions.
Quick Access
Go to My Events → Select an event → Submissions (Evaluator section)

Accessing Submissions for Review
- Log in to your account
- Navigate to the event dashboard
- Click on Submissions in the Evaluator menu
- You'll see the list of submissions assigned to you
Submissions List
The submissions view shows:

| Average Score | Overall score from all evaluators |
Reviewing a Submission
Step 1: Read the Proposal
Click on a submission to see:
- Full title and abstract
- Detailed description
- Speaker bio and experience
- Previous talks (if provided)
- Any attached materials
Step 2: Evaluate Against Criteria
Consider the evaluation criteria set by organizers:
- Relevance to the event theme
- Quality of the proposal
- Speaker expertise
- Audience value
- Originality
Step 3: Assign Scores
Score each criterion on the defined scale (e.g., 1-5):
- Open the scoring panel
- Rate each criterion
- Scores are saved automatically
Step 4: Add Comments
Write feedback for:
- Internal Comments: Visible only to other evaluators and organizers
- Speaker Feedback: Shared with the speaker (if enabled)
Best Practice: Be constructive in your feedback. Even for rejected talks, helpful comments improve future submissions.
Review Status
Your review can be in different states:

|---|---|
| Not Started | You haven't reviewed this submission |
| In Progress | You've started but not completed |
| Completed | You've submitted your full evaluation |
| Skipped | You've chosen to skip (conflict of interest) |
Handling Conflicts of Interest
If you know the speaker or have a conflict:
- Click Skip or Conflict of Interest
- Optionally explain the reason
- The submission won't count toward your assignment
Evaluation Tips
What to Look For
- Clear objectives: Does the proposal explain what attendees will learn?
- Appropriate level: Is the content suitable for the target audience?
- Practical value: Can attendees apply what they learn?
- Well-structured: Is the talk organized logically?
Red Flags
- Vague or generic descriptions
- Mismatched level and content
- Promotional or sales-focused talks
- Missing speaker information
Bulk Actions
For efficient reviewing:
- Use filters to focus on specific tracks
- Sort by review status to see pending items
- Use keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation
Deadlines
Pay attention to review deadlines:
- Check the evaluation timeline in the dashboard
- Receive reminders as deadlines approach
- Complete all assigned reviews on time
Discussion Mode
If enabled, participate in discussions:
- See comments from other evaluators
- Add your perspective
- Help reach consensus on borderline cases
